Two of the top treadmills on our list of the best treadmills of 2017 are the Proform 995i and the 3G Cardio Elite Runner. Different treadmills have the same purpose but it’s the little things that are going to elevate one over the other. In addition to personal preference, most users are going to look at a treadmill’s diversity as a machine and how it can equally diversify their workouts.
These more expensive machines are going to come with additional features that are going to make a home workout much more fulfilling an addition to being accessible. Let’s see if we can’t point out a clear winner between the 995i and the Runner.
In retrospect, the 995i and the Runner are around the same size and are probably going to require a dedicated room or portion of the garage to be operational. However, the 995i is able to fold up vertically to reduce the amount of space it takes up. Considering you’ll have to unfold it again to use it, it’s not the most discerning factor in the world.
Both treadmill’s consoles are arranged neatly in front of the runner. Even better, both treadmills come with built in fans but they are located in different parts of the console. The heart rate monitors are also located in different locations (they may be difficult to spot on the 995i initially).
The number of programs and systems along with their workouts is going to differ between the treadmills. The 995i has 30 different programs while the Runner only has 8. For those looking to diversify their workouts, this is a huge difference. It means the 995i is going to challenge your body in a variety of ways, whereas you might run out quickly with the Runner.
Both treadmills have an incline feature that is underneath the treadmill and elevates the entire body when enabled. Both treadmills have a maximum speed of 12mph. None of us are Usain Bolt, but either treadmill will be perfect for anyone looking for high-speed interval training.
The one clear advantage that the 995i has over the Runner is price. If you’re on a budget, the 995i is going to be your best bet at a premium treadmill. Sure, the programs are going to be different but has just about every design feature that the Runner has.
If you’re willing to put the money into the Runner and make use of all its programs and features, then it will definitely be worth it. However, we simply can’t ignore the fact that the two treadmills are remarkably similar regardless.
