Here are my recommendations, with something for every lifestyle and price point.
Perfect for runners and cyclists, this sweatshirt is cute, comfortable and made to last. It comes in purple or orange, so people can see you on the road and has a 2-way hoodie to protect you from wind or rain. There’s also a big front pocket, so you can jog or hike and keep yur keys and phone on you, but out of the way.
The cotton blend is treated with UA’s signature Moisture Transport System, so it feels plush and dries quick after a run. And the ribbed sleeves and hem provide a close fit that allows for full range of motion. Designed with the UA logo across the chest it’s an affordable, fun choice.
This lightweight hooded sweatshirt is great for spring or fall and is flattering to any body type. A mix of cotton and polyester, it has a cool gray and white color blocking design that makes it perfect for running errands or an afternoon out with friends.
The hood flips up, but there are no strings to secure it, and there is no moisture guard, which is why this hoodie is more for a day out than a day at the gym. It looks good with leggings, jeans, or sweatpants and is the ultimate casual day sweatshirt.
If you’re looking for a stylish pullover, or need a serious training sweatshirt this is it. Nike is known for their quality sports shoes and their sweatshirts are just as impressive. Made with thermal material and Dri-FIT, it will keep you warm and dry no matter how much of a sweat you work up.
For cyclists and runners, the thermal properties, combined with the fitted style, will improve performance while protecting you from the elements. And the purple body with black accent arms and silver Nike chest check will have people everywhere turning heads. All for a great price!
Looking for the perfect Saturday afternoon hoodie? Well, you found it with this flattering, V-neck style shirt. Available in a variety of colors, it’s part spandex, part cotton, and part polyester, so it hugs you in all the right places.
The V-neck has 3-buttons for more of a dressed up look, and there’s a low-slung front pocket to hold your wallet or phone. A budget-friendly option for a Saturday stroll.
Nike’s zip-up style classic hoodie is a smart pick for women of all ages. College students will love how it takes them from class to the gym, while older women can use it for everyday wear or out for a jog.
It fits loose, with pockets on either side and there is a drawstring on the hood to keep it in place if you run or skate. Nike’s logo is above the breast and the cotton material is light, bit durable. The perfect everyday sweat jacket.
Puma’s funky hoodie is young and fresh, with pastel accents that scream spring and sunshine. It fits close to the body, with an oversized hood and oversized logo across the chest. The hood has a thick cord for a custom fit and there is a large pocket across the bottom.
A good fit for college students and young professionals, the pastel colors in the logo give it a light, airy feel. And the price can’t be beat.
This full-zip hoodie from Under Armour is a must for outdoor enthusiasts and serious fitness fanatics. A unique blend of hybrid fleece, it is warm, yet airy and can protect you from the elements. The UA Storm 2 protection make it water-resistant and wind-proof so you can run or jog in any weather and the adjustable hood keeps you dry as well.
Avaiable in sevreal colors, it is a quality hoodie at a barahin prce.
Available in a variety of vibrant spring and summer colors, this full zip-up hoodie is a blend of comfort and function. The hood can be pulled as tight as you need, while the cotton polyester blend jacket gives a roomy, soft fit.
And inside, there is a textured waffle print, which feels cool against your skin. Designed with the signature Polo pony on the breast, this high quality jacket is good for exercising or lounging.
Calvin Klein Jeans Women’s Crew Neck Raglan Sport Top Charcoal Space Dye Sweatshirt MD (Women’s 8-10)
This sweatshirt looks like anything but a sweatshirt, with a dressy, fitted design that you can wear to a restaurant or bar. The scoop neck style and heather gray pattern looks great with boots or jeans and the slim fit flatters and enhances your natural shape.
Lightweight, but warm, it’s ideal for a night out with the girls and can go from day to night with ease.
If you’re looking to workout in style this crew neck sweatshirt from Calvin Klein is the one for you. Embroidered with the CK logo across the chest, it has a loose, fit with a crisscross hem that gives it just the right amount of structure.
It comes in 3 different colors and has ribbing on the sleeves so you can push them up and out of your way when you need to. Affordably priced, this sweatshirt works in the gym or any casual setting.
Different Styles of Sweatshirts
All sweatshirts are not created equal and although the names are used interchangeably, they aren’t really the same. Each has a different feature from the others, which I’ll break down for you now:
This is the most common term and refers to a crew neck style sweatshirt.
Hoodies refer to sweatshirts that have a hood attached to it; most often used by teens and young adults.
Pullovers are usually sweatshirts with a half zipper on top, so you have to pull it over your head to put it on.
Zip-ups are for sweat jackets, as they have a zipper from top to bottom.
Sweatshirt Buying Guide: All You’ll Consider
So, what should look for when buying a sweatshirt? Here is our checklist:
Sweatshirts aren’t just for the gym anymore. Women wear them everywhere (I know I do), so you should pay attention to the style. Look at the colors and patterns, picking the ones that appeal to you most. Even if you’re only wearing it to the gym, it helps to feel good.
Hoodie, or pullover? The answer depends on your needs. If you run outdoors a lot, you may want a hoodie for those rainy or windy days. If you want something a bit more modern for lunch out with friends, it may be better to opt for a pullover. Choose based on your needs.
Speaking of needs, the material you pick should match your needs. If you need a sweatshirt for intense workouts, choose moisture-wicking materials so you’re not wet and chilly after you exercise. If you hike, look for waterproof materials to keep you dry in the rain. Pick the right material to get the most from your hoodie.
Sweatshirts are supposed to be the epitome of comfort, but comfy doesn’t have to mean sloppy. Ideally, you want it to skim your curves, for a relaxed, but polished look.
The one exception is if you run marathons or fitness train. In those cases, you may want it to hug you more, so it feels like a second skin and doesn’t interfere with your movements.
I hope my Guide to the Best Women’s Hoodies helps you find just what you need. Women’s sweatshirts are everywhere, in a variety of fabrics and styles. Finding what you need just takes a little patience and know-how. I can’t help you with the patience, but with this guide you have plenty of know-how to get exactly what you need to look and feel your best!
