Depending on their favorite activities, there are tons of gifts to choose from that will help your gift recipient reach their goals. Whether you want to splurge on a wearable device or help them update their cold weather workout gear, there’s something for everyone. Here are a few of our favorite ideas.
The Charge 2 is one of Fitbit’s most popular devices, and it makes an excellent gift. It tracks activity, sleep, and heart rate, and there are several options for personalizing the style. The app is great, and overall the Charge 2 is great for anyone who wants to take their health and fitness seriously.

Whether they want to read an inspirational memoir, catch up on the latest fitness magazines, or watch yoga videos on YouTube, the Amazon Fire tablet does it all — and it’s way less expensive than some other tablets that will remain nameless. Pajamas are fun, functional, and cozy. Whether you go for a traditional set or a silly animal onesie, the gift of pajamas says, “I want you to be warm and comfortable.” I’m not sure who wouldn’t love get some comfy pajamas (except maybe not your boss — that might be weird), so definitely consider this for (almost) anyone.

You can also give a gift card, buy tickets to a concert, or give a monthly subscription box. Instead of stressing out about what you don’t have to buy, use your last minute planning to give the recipient something to look forward to!

Where to Catch the Latest Deals on Amazon
Amazon’s recent launch of their Countdown to Black Friday means great deals on products starting now and continuing throughout the holiday season.
Within the Black Friday countdown, there are a ton of products available at any given time in the Health & Personal Care category, so that will be one to watch – you can see current and upcoming deals. This category will have scales, fitness trackers, some headphones, massagers, braces, supplements, and more.
Keep an eye on Amazon Warehouse Deals Fitness Trackers – this section offers huge discounts on products that are open box or “used-like new.” This section has great options for replacement bands and fitness trackers.
While there are a few different types of products listed in this section, you’ll know what you’re getting based on the product description. For example, “Like New” is open box (brand new, but the packaging makes it unsaleable as a “New” product). Other descriptions include, “Very Good,” “Good,” and “Acceptable” and are all pretty self-explanatory.
Amazon has some useful gift guides that showcase this year’s top gifts. In the Electronics Gift Guide – Active Lifestyle, you’ll find a huge selection of products ranging from active cameras to fitness trackers and wireless headphones. This is a perfect page to visit often and see what’s on sale.
Which Products to Watch For
Not sure what you’re after just yet? Here are some gifts ideas that are sure to be priced nicely this holiday season.
Garmin Fitness Tracker Discounts
Garmin released several new wearables this year, with two watches, a fitness tracker, and a kid’s fitness tracker coming in just the past few months. This means a few things for gift-givers (and treating yourself): First, you have some amazing options for Garmin wearables. Second, there’s sure to be some major discounts on the older models. While we don’t expect the newest devices to be discounted much (or at all), it’s worth checking out these impressive new devices:
- Vivoactive 3: Sleek and sport smartwatch
- Vivomove HR: Stylish hybrid smartwatch
- Vivosport: Water resistant GPS fitness tracker
- Vivofit Jr. 2: Fun and affordable activity tracking and motivations for kids
Then there are just a few of the models we expect to see steeply discounted:
- Vivoactive HR: The best-selling smart fitness watch is already priced below $200
- Vivofit Jr.: The original tracker for kiddos should be super cheap through the end of the year
- Fenix 5X Sapphire: Garmin’s top of the line multisport fitness and adventure watch should be discounted for the holidays
- Vivofit 3: A useful tracker priced well below $100
Fitbit is predicted to take a huge chunk of holiday sales in the fitness category. This is due to not only the bestselling fitness trackers but also in part because of the new smartwatch Fitbit Ionic (see it here) and the new wireless headphones the Fitbit Flyers. The newest devices are not likely to be on sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but there are other Fitbit devices that will have slashed prices on those busy shopping days. These include:
Fitbit Surge: The original GPS watch has been discontinued to make way for the Ionic, but you can still grab this gem at a steep discount while it lasts.
Charge 2: The bestselling fitness tracker (and our top pick from Fitbit) usually gets at least a $20 discount for holidays, so we’re anticipating at least this amount off for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Alta HR: The Alta HR is a great alternative to the Charge 2, and it should get the same kind of discount. Be on the lookout for this slim, stylish device to be on sale for this year’s gift-giving.
Headphones make a great gift, and there’s sure to be a healthy selection to choose from in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on this page: Top 10 Headphone Deals for the most up to date sales. Headphones will also
Action cameras make great gifts for those hard to shop for adventurers in your life. GoPro is the kind of action cameras, so keep an eye out for discounts on older models. The latest and greatest from GoPro, the HERO6 (available here) would be an extra special gift, but you can save a bit of money going for the HERO5 (see it here) or the bestselling HERO4 (see it here).
The holiday season is a great time to pick up some fitness equipment, whether for a gift or for yourself, and there will be deals in every category you can think of. Check out the top-selling and highly rated Concept2 Indoor Rower (click to see current price) or an inexpensive Stamina Elliptical Trainer.
We’ve curated gift guides for all the fitness equipment categories you need. Check them out here.
Looking for a smartwatch this holiday season? One thing you don’t have to worry about is a lack of options. Several smartwatches launched this year from heavy hitters Apple, Fitbit, and Samsung, plus there are still plenty of other names in the smartwatch world.
You can expect to pay full price or get a bit of a discount on the most recent models, and pretty much all the options are around the same price (all around the $300 mark, with the exception of the LTE Apple Watch 3). Watch for sales on Cyber Monday and closer to Christmas for these.
Fitbit’s entry into the world of smartwatches has been met with some skepticism and mixed reviews. It’s still a little buggy, the app store hasn’t opened yet, and it’s not a super smart smartwatch. However, we like it, lots of new owners like it, and Fitbit fans are going to want it. We anticipate good sales for Fitbit this year.
If you’re considering buying the Ionic this holiday season, don’t expect much (or any) discount. The Ionic just started shipping in October, so it’s new enough that it seem unlikely that retailers or Fitbit will do much to reduce the price for holiday shopping. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible, however – we’ll keep you updated on any potential sale prices throughout the holiday shopping season.
The Apple Watch 3 is sure to be on many peoples’ holiday lists this year. The latest iteration of the wildly popular smartwatch dropped this fall and has been getting plenty of high marks from users and reviewers. The available LTE option is pretty exciting for a lot of athletes, so it’s likely that the LTE Watch 3 will sell well this year.
Like the Ionic, we’re not expecting to see discounts on the Apple Watch 3 this holiday season. The original Apple Watch is still available and offered at a much lower price (more on that below), so that’s a better option for the budget conscious.
Garmin is known for making solid fitness trackers, and their new smartwatch edition doesn’t disappoint. The Vivoactive 3 is an excellent alternative to Fitbit and Apple, with a stylish look and plenty of fitness features. As a smartwatch it isn’t the smartest available, but it does enough for anyone looking for primarily fitness features with some smartwatch features available.
Some retailers have had a hard time keeping the Vivoactive 3 in stock, so we’re not anticipating any discounts on this device, at least not for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Perhaps later in the year we’ll see a price break, but don’t hesitate to check out some of Garmin’s other devices, which likely will be on sale throughout the season.
Reviews for Samsung’s various smartwatches have been mixed. However, the recently released Gear Sport seems promising, and will undoubtedly take away some sales from Fitbit and Garmin. It’s compatible with Android and iOS phones. One big advantage to the Gear Sport? It works with Spotify – you can download playlists right to your watch. (This is a feature that many are wishing the Ionic and Apple Watch 3 included.)
As another brand new smartwatch, chances of discounts on the Gear Sport will undoubtedly be slim to none, but keep an eye out for flash sales or bundles at various retailers. The Gear Sport is priced the same as the previous models we discussed, so it’s worth keeping in mind for the fitness fanatic in your life.
Watch for Discounts on These Older Models
If you or your loved one does not mind getting an older model, you’ll find several budget-friendly options on smartwatches. Expect big discounts on previous versions and discontinued watches.
Here are a few of the smartwatches we’re looking forward to this holiday season.
Apple Watch Series 1 UPDATE: WATCH FOR THE SERIES 1 TO BE UP TO $70 OFF
Apple yanked the Series 2 almost immediately upon the Series 3 release, but it looks like the Series 1 is here to stay – for now, at least. This is good news for shoppers, as you can get the original Watch at a more budget-friendly price. It lacks some of the cool stuff the Series 3 has, but it still functions well as a smartwatch.
Look for various retailers to put this on sale throughout the holiday season. We’ll keep you updated when we see any of these big sales.
Samsung Gear S2 UPDATE: WATCH FOR THE GEAR FIT 2 UP TO $50 OFF
Samsung’s focus now is the Gear Sport and the flagship S3, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore the S2. You can find this older model at huge discounts – up to $100 off in some cases. The S2 may not be the best or smartest smartwatch on the block, but it’s affordable and still does the basics.
You’ll find a selection of colors in the S2; some online retailers have different price points for different color options, so it’s worth checking around to find the deals.
Fitbit Blaze UPDATE: WATCH FOR THE BLAZE TO BE UP TO $50 OFF
While not technically a smartwatch (it’s a smart fitness watch), we’re still including it here because it’s sure to go on sale this holiday season, beginning with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The Blaze is a solid fitness watch, and it includes many of the smartwatch features that consumers want. It’s worth checking out and keeping an eye on for potential discounts.
The Blaze makes a great gift for your stylish loved ones, as there are tons of fun replacement bands. It’s a really smart option for gift giving, and is more in budget for many people.
Here are a few other options you can check out. Each of these are among Amazon’s top sellers (see the full list here), and they all should be on sale at some point throughout the upcoming shopping season.
